New Construction Dryerbox
The Dryerbox is an in-wall recessed receptacle in the laundry room that houses the dryer exhaust duct. It has changed the way of venting a dryer, contributing to improved dryer performance, safer, more efficient and roomier homes. The Dryerbox protects the exhaust duct against crushing from appliance movement, keeps the air flowing and helps to reduce lint build up.
New construction can also mean remodeling. Basically there is no drywall on the studs. Dryerbox models for new construction have a flange that mounts to the stud (in the rough) and is installed before the drywall is hung. These Dryerbox models have a "built-in" cornerbead, and do not need a secondary trim ring. The Dryerbox reduces the fire hazard associated with dryer venting problems. It’s even UL Classified for a 1-hour wall.
