Dryer-Ell 90-Degree Long-turn Dryer Elbow overcomes length of run issues and increases efficiency.

The Dryer-Ell has a long radius and smooth interior that reduces friction dramatically. This elbow will save the user 4.6 feet of duct run because this elbow, according to the building code and ASHREA calculations, has friction loss equal to straight pipe. The typical 3.5" radius ell carries with it a run-length reduction penalty of 5 feet. Regarding efficiency, we estimate this ell pays for itself in 2 years. UL lab testing demonstrated this ell was 500% more efficient than the standard 4" ell.

Tip: Any sheet metal screw will work to mate the sections, but the easiest are the black Pro-Twist Pan Head Framing Sharp Point Screw #7 x 7/16″, which are common with HVAC tradesmen and are available at Home Depot.

Screws are not included.

LT90 Long Turn Elbow

Fantastic elbow as long as you have room for it. Used it on a downward vent to the outside, a marked improvement in air movement as evidenced at the exterior outlet, it’s that obvious. Highly recommend, just make sure you you have room.

Looks good but.....

Does not piece together well and is not sealed at seams. The parts did not align up well either and thus it was hard to get together.

Made a huge difference

I recently remodeled my laundry room and stacked my washer/dryer. That required moving the driver vent and so I also replaced the ~20yr old venting in place. I have a 25' run down to the crawl and out. Previously it had a 90degree and 2 other kinks. Now it has the 90degree long-turn ell and a straight run. The difference is amazing. The dryer is done so quick we think it must not have finished, but everything is dry. We used to have to run it twice for towels and blankets and now even stuff balled up in a sheet is dry. highly recommend

Okay, not great.

I'm sold on the concept of the long smooth wall sweeping ell having less flow resistance and therefore being better for a dryer vent. This product does accomplish that goal and is better than the standard adjustable ell that is commonly available. Trouble with it is that it comes in two pieces, and they don't fit together particularly well. It took a lot of fiddling with it to get the two pieces together right, then I ended up drilling holes in the flanges so I could rivet the sides together for a tighter fit. Even with that I had to seal every seal with foil tape to prevent unacceptable leakage. It did the job, but it is unlikely that I would buy it again.

It does just what it was made for. We cut 4" from our dryer run so we made it @ 23'. We had no problems with the inspection. Thanks!

Recent purchase. HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT and EASY INSTALLATION

I bought this to go with the "downbox" dryer box. It also comes with a downbox kit, which I would have purchased had I known about it at the time. It's a little tricky to assemble for a novice like me, but it is of the same high quality of other venting products I have purchased from DryerBox.com. It is made of heavy duty metal, not thin materials.

I installed the LT90 90 Degree Long-Ell following the installation instructions on the internet. All the components went together with no problem, the installation look good and I expect it to last for many years. I would recommend this component since I have a rather long run and these Ell's saved me 8 feet of duct.

Solved a problem

by papadewey| 5/24/2015 12:00:00 am

This duct although expensive solves problems with installation and then keeping the ducts clean. Someone installed corrugated duct for a 25 foot run. Using the long turn elbow from this company and smooth interior pipe clogs should be a thing of the past.

The Dryer-Ell saves the day

by Eric Smith| 12/21/2013 12:00:00 am

IRC building code allows a 35 foot maximum on dryer vents. I am at 33' 6" thanks to the Dryer-Ell. A regular 90-degree elbow would have cost me a 5-foot penalty which would have put me over. The installation was a snap, and I like the idea of having the smooth corner as this run goes up 12 feet before turning towards the outside wall. No worries about lint getting backed up in the traditional elbow. Great product with fast shipping. Thanks.

Useful Product. Could be improved.

It's a simple solution to reduce back flow pressure and improve run length. What could stand improvement: 1) The sliding tabs were not cut long enough so the two halves were off by 1/4" when assembled. 2) There is still a lot of air leakage in the seams after final assembly. A little more thought could go into the seam design.

Works if you have the Space

by DFT Services| 5/27/2013 12:00:00 am

Yes, the flanges can be a problem. This can be remedied with screws and foil tape. Otherwise, if you have the space to use this elbow, it will improve dryer performance.
