Additional Description:

This medium-sized Galvalume® roof cap has a plate (flange) size of 12” wide x 14” and the structure is 6” wide x 8” and about 9” high. It has a 4.12 inch diameter collar that accepts typical residential dryer exhaust conduit. Per building codes, there is no screen in this vent as it is exclusively designed for clothes dryers. Unlike other roof vents, this vent features a unique lightweight damper that is curved, increasing the efficiency dramatically. The final opening is 65% larger than the round pipe portion. By far, this is the most efficient roof vent on the market.

For flat roof installs, we recommend a installing our DJK486U (curb style) over a raised curb.

The collar penetrates the plate about 1.25 inches and is sealed to the plate with a silicone bead. It will work on sloped roofs from 2/12 up to 12/12.

Note: Not recommended for use with a high-profile roof tiles like "S", Spanish S as there is only 5 inches between the opening and the bottom plate.

The slope and shape of the damper deters birds from nesting and prevents rodent entry. This vent is proudly made in the USA.

Galvalume: A patented alloy of barrier-resistant aluminum and corrosion-fighting zinc gives Galvalume its superior corrosion resistance. Most Galvalume substrates feature an alloy that is 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicon. Tests have proven this alloy superior to the zinc-only coating used in regular Galvanized sheeting. Additionally, it is Acrylic Coated, coating designation AZ-55.

Complies with 2017 code M1502.3.1 (Exhaust termination passageway size).

Professional installation is recommended.

DIY'ers, we recommend Polyurethane Roof and Flashing Sealant.

Not recommended for for bathroom exhaust fans with less than 70 cfm output.

Best in Class

by Chuck| 1/26/2017 12:00:00 am

Roofer installed dryer jack yesterday to replace the builder's OEM chicken-wired contraption that was causing grief to our dryer. Roofer said that the dryer jack was the best he has seen and that we probably would not even need to have the dryer exhaust vacuumed out ever again. To me, this makes the dryer jack "best in class."

Bath vent

by maverick50| 9/10/2014 12:00:00 am

Used this as a bathroom vent to go on a rubber roof with about a 1/12 pitch. It worked exactly as described. The large flange gave plenty of room for mounting and sealing over the slightly oversized hole in the roof needed to fish out the duct and connect it. Happy!

DELIGHTED

by Finley| 1/23/2018 12:00:00 am

We have noticed a 20% decrease in drying time and the dryer is much more efficient. These dryer vents in our community are a major problem even for a homeowner to replace their dryer. Thanks for a great product. I will suggest to my wife to leave positive feedback in our community as well as FACEBOOK.

The Dryer Jack is well built and should provide good service. I am glad I found it. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a roof dryer exhaust.

Dryer Jack - gooseneck design

by Ray| 4/30/2013 12:00:00 am

Got one for a new installation based on info. re: air flow restriction - very low. It is a well made unit and not much more $$ than the cheap one at local store which has much more restriction. Hopeful that this will result in energy savings - too soon to tell. Like it enough that I may buy a second unit for another dryer.

DryerJack

by Richard| 11/19/2014 12:00:00 am

Product was exactly as described. It arrived quickly and is well made. I got the painted version and the paint appears to be very good quality. Installed fine, and works great. I forgot to take into account the vent connection is perpendicular to the flashing plate, and had to add a twisting 45-degree coupler to match the vertical dryer vent. Would recommend to a friend.

Drying is faster!

by Frank| 8/19/2015 12:00:00 am

I got tired of the ice and condensation of a 30' run through our attic. I researched the Dryer Jack online and installed it easily. Even in the summer, clothes are drying faster and I assume the condensation problem will be gone. I ordered black to match the roof and it is pretty inconspicuous. Good product.

Great

Average dryer time from 3 hours to 35 minutes. If you vent to the roof get this vent.

installed but waiting for wash/dry unit delivery

Construction strength and enamel paint are very good. Had shingle contractor install box and now we are waiting for the wash/dryer unit delivery. No problems with weather or animals.

Nice Box, unsure about flashing

by Roy| 9/19/2014 12:00:00 am

This is a nice product. It has a thin slit in the front at the base that is supposed to be left open. I wasn't sure the best way to flash it. Also, the center would bulge up and block the thin slit, so be sure to angle your screws out. Just installed it a few weeks ago, so we will see how it works, that's why it gets 4 stars.

Works Amazing!

by Melvin| 10/16/2013 12:00:00 am

I received mine as scheduled, paid $82 for delivery, but didn't mine because DryerJack - Gooseneck design vents are not available in Hawaii or in any home improvement store here. I had to replace my existing vent because it was very inefficient and collected alot of lint. I was in the middle of re-roofing my home too. DryerJack vent was installed as instructed. For this installation, I had to attach a 4" x 3' duct to the vent using a 4" clamp and screwed sheetmetal screws through the clamp and collar and sealed the joint with duct tape. Vent was installed from the top of my roof and through my interior ceiling. I had to ensure that the duct would not come off since I would not have access to the vent collar once installed. Vent works amazing, wife is happy that dryer takes a single cycle to dry a load of clothes. Vent is designed with an access cover that makes it easier for cleaning vent and is almost twice the size of my previous vent, so I don't expect it to collect alot of lint. I recommend checking your dryer vent yearly anyway and eliminating any possible fire hazards to your home.
